Official recognition of our ESS

We are now officially recognised as an Accredited European School

On Wednesday, 11 May, the Minister of Education, Christine Streichert-Clivot, together with the Secretary General of the Board of Governors of the European Schools, Andreas Beckmann, the Mayor of Saarbrücken, Uwe Conradt, the State Secretary and Plenipotentiary for Europe in the Saarland State Chancellery, David Lindemann, and the Director of the Regional Association, Peter Gillo, signed the Recognition Agreement.

Our P1 and P5 pupils took part in this event full of anticipation and accompanied this ceremony with music. Afterwards, everyone met together in our schoolyard. For our entire team, this was a very special day that honoured our work at the ESS.

Our Minister of Education Christine Streichert - Clivot found beautiful words for our ESS: "We are proud of the European School Saarland, the first school of its kind in Germany under public sponsorship. Diversity and the European idea are lived here. The team around Hubert Jung does excellent work, which is recognised with the official accreditation as a European School."

We are very happy about the positive feedback from all those involved, which motivates us to continue to develop our ESS. The recognition of our ESS is another great milestone for us as a school community, which shows us that together we can create great things and that we are on the right path.
