The after-school care at the European School Saarland is offered and managed by the ASB Landesverband Saarland e.V. as a cooperation partner of the school.

The after-school care offers up to 80 school children the opportunity to be cared for from the end of school at 4 p.m. daily until 6 p.m. and from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. during the holidays.

In the summer, we also offer the first-year children registered in the after-school care the opportunity to take part in our Welcome Weeks. This gives the children the opportunity to get to know the school building, the pedagogical staff and other children before they officially start school.

Our after-school programme offers students the opportunity to spend time in a relaxed environment and to discover new skills outside the classroom, as well as to make contacts and friendships with children from other classes.

The basis of our educational work is the Saarland Education Programme. At the same time, our work always includes the European dimension and the character of the school. Information about our room concept can be found here. The pedagogical concept is constantly progressing, but the focus of all our actions is always the needs of the child. The team consists of staff with a wide range of qualifications and professions, e.g. childhood educators, nursery school teachers, educationalists, relaxation educators and many more. We are always supported by interns.

We give training

We are also a training company and can train educators in the preliminary and recognition year, and we also offer places for the Federal Volunteer Service (BFD).

In addition, we are a partner of the University of Applied Sciences (htw saar). We offer students the opportunity to complete their practical semester in the study programme "Social Work and Childhood Education" at our institution.

Students of the Fachoberschule Sozialwesen can also do their internship with us.

Our cooperation partners

In our after-school care, the children can take individual music lessons during the care time through a cooperation with the music school of the state capital of Saarbrücken.

We place special emphasis on the topics of sustainability, fair trade and regionality. To this end, we have our own Fairtrade-AG and cooperate with the Fairtrade Initiative Saarland e.V.

For our commitment in the matter of Fairtrade, we were the second day care facility in Saarland to be awarded the title of "Fairer Hort".
