What does Europe mean to you?: To me, Europe means diversity: a coexistence of different cultures, languages, identities, and perspectives. It stands for Enlightenment values that prioritize human freedom and dignity and serve as the foundation for a just society. At the same time, I also associate Europe with the responsibility to critically engage with its own history. This includes, in particular, an awareness of the atrocities of colonialism and their repercussions that extend into the present day. For me, this act of remembering and reflecting is a prerequisite for learning from the past and contributing to a more just and united world.

What does Europe mean to you?:
I particularly appreciate the opportunity to meet people from other countries, gain new experiences, and experience different cultures firsthand; this broadens one’s horizons and often creates connections that endure beyond national borders. Europe’s cultural diversity is what makes our continent unique. Despite our different languages and traditions, we have much in common, and it is precisely this exchange that fosters openness, respect, and mutual understanding. In a world facing ever-greater challenges, European cohesion is becoming increasingly important. For me, therefore, Europe is not just a community of countries, but also the feeling that we are stronger together.
