Upon entering the first year of secondary school (S1), all students choose a third language (L3), also known as a second foreign language. The choice is made by ranking the available languages in order of preference. The following options are available:

• P5DE with L2 English: French or Spanish or Italian

• P5DE with L2 French: English or Spanish or Italian

• P5EN with L2 German: French or Spanish oder Italian

Während die L3 in der S1 zweistündig stattfindet, erhöht sich die Wochenstundenzahl von S2-S5 auf drei Stunden. Die gewählte Sprache kann nach der S5 abgewählt oder bis zum Abitur belegt werden.

While L3 is taught for two lessons per week in S1, the number of weekly lessons increases to three from S2-S5. Students may drop the language they have chosen after S5 or continue taking it through the Baccaleaureate.

Procedure of Selection

• Friday, 30/01/2026: start of selection process with subject selection forms
• Freitag, 13/02/26: handing in subject selection forms with class teachers

Further

• All students who do not submit their selections form will be assigned to a course by the school.
• Please do not select by email. Only submitted selection forms will be counted.
• The decision regarding whether a course will be offered or the minimum number of participants required is at the discretion of the school administration.
