European Student Mobility

The European Student Mobility program, which operates within the network of European Schools—both official and accredited—allows our students to attend other European Schools and, in return, enables us to host students from those schools.
If you have any questions, please contact Ms Kullmann.
Questions about the mobility
- S3 students can apply for an exchange in S4
- S4 students can apply for an exchange in S5
- S4: about 5 weeks (September)
- S5: 4 months (September to December)
- One-to-One Exchange: our school sends a pupil to another European school and in return takes in another child.
- One-Way Mobility: our school sends a pupil to another European school.
Please note: The chances of success are generally higher with a one-to-one exchange, as it is usually the lack of host families that cause the programme to fail.
1. Parents and pupil have to fill in the Mobility Application Form.
2. Parents should sign and scan the completed Consent Form.
3. Pupils should explain the reasons for applying to an exchange programme and their expectations in the Application Form. They can include information about which subjects they enjoy the most at school, their hobbies and other sport or leisure activities they practice. They can also provide information about their personality and interests. This information will be used to help finding a host family.
4. Questions can be directed at the coordinators Ms. Kullmann and Ms. Helfer.
- Some schools, especially Type 1 schools, are in high demand (e.g. Helsinki, Alicante)
- The chances of success are higher at Type 2 schools
- Find the list of participating schools here

- You can agree to be a host family without your child participating in the mobility programme. This increases the chances for another child.
- If you already know a host family who would be willing to take in your child, you can indicate this on the application form.
- If you do not have a host family, we will contact the coordinators of your preferred schools to ask them if they have any families available. Please do not contact the schools yourself. The official channel via the coordinators must be followed.
